A Trip Through the BVIs

Click on pictures for larger-size photos (images will come up in a new pop-up window).

Our "ride" for the day

First stop, Virgin Gorda...

...and The Baths

Volcanic eruptions brought the boulders to the surface

Now, it's a magical rock playground

Mike takes a "Bath"

A nice place for cruising

Captain John waits to take us to the next stop...

...lunch on Marina Cay!

Carefully debarking (note the cups of Painkillers behind the windshield)

Lunch at Pusser's

Marina Cay palapa awaits you

Leaving Marina Cay...

...we pass the real-life Gilligan's Island...

...and that palm tree in the distance featured in the Corona beer commercial with Christmas lights

After a snorkeling stop at Guana Island, we arrive at Jost Van Dyke, smallest of the four main BVIs

Jost Van Dyke is home to the Soggy Dollar Bar, reputed birthplace of the Painkiller...

...and so named because you have to swim to shore from your boat (your dollars get soggy)

Your brain can get pretty soggy in a place like this

Painkillers in paradise

Thanks for the memories, Captain John (and first mate Peggy!)
